Aunt Zelda's Extract is produced from premium cannabis flowers and organic ethanol. Our production techniques optimize extraction and decarboxylation of the cannabinoids while preserving synergistic terpenes. We believe cannabis medicine works best when all its compounds are present and have developed our extracts with that goal in mind. Extract is ideal for patients who need significantly high doses of cannabinoids. For maximum bioavailability, extract should be placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve. Some patients also prefer encapsulation, which avoids any taste but reduces bioavailability. The extract can also be dabbed or vaporized.
Our team is constantly researching the effects of different cannabis profiles on specific conditions, and use this information to provide the best medical cannabis solution for our patients.
Dosing information from Aunt Zelda's
To achieve a specific amount of THC or CBD, divide your target dose by your medicine's concentration (for example, a 200mg THC target dose with a 600mg/g extract would be 200/600 = .33g).
Doses can also be estimated from the .1g gradations on the syringe. Therefore, a .32g dose could be estimated by squeezing out about three gradations of the syringe. Many patients start with or switch over to estimating doses due to the hassle of weighing each dose, but starting with a scale can be a great way for new patients to get exact dosing and understand the size/weight relationship of the extract to help with estimating.
In general, the most important thing for patients is finding the right combination of THC and CBD for their conditions. However, the strain and associated terpenes can also be critical. For example, products derived from strains high in sedating terpenes like myrcene and linalool are more likely to be calming, while strains high in stimulating terpenes like limonene and pinene are more likely to be energizing. Choosing the right strain can maximize the impact of THC and CBD and minimize potential unintended side effects.
For patients completely new to cannabis, starting with 1mg of THC or less and/or 5mg of CBD is a reasonable start, and both primary cannabinoids can be slowly increased until finding relief.
With a known concentration level of any medicine, an accurate target dose of THC or CBD can be administered. The formula is: Target Dose (mg) / Concentration (mg/mL) = Volume of Dose (mL)
- The volume of medicine required to achieve a target dose is calculated by the above formula.
For patients new to cannabis, using a microdosing approach is often a suitable start. For patients very sensitive to THC or who need to precisely add it to CBD doses, this low and slow approach offers a slower start.
